Ocular Complications in Leprosy

Abstract
|
|
|
This writer reports on ocular complications in one hundred and twenty patients with clinically proven and confirmed leprosy among out patients who had visited The Taegu Missionary Leprosy Center.
Ocular findings were compared with previous reports.
Ocular complications were present in 73% of the patients: lepromatous 75%, tuberculoid 16%, and borderline 9%.
In age and sex characteristics mean age was 49 years and 85 cases of the patients examined were male and 35 cases female respectively.
In some complications, duration of illness was also studied.
Only 7.5% of the patients were blind in one eye.
